The Fore Fathers
John G. McCullagh
John McCullagh died suddenly at the age of 67, while golfing on September 11th, 2003, as a result of silent heart disease. As an Irish immigrant to Canada, he personified the ideals of a “family man”, leaving his home in Ireland with his young family so that his children would have better opportunities in life. His commitment to hard work, and doing things the right way served him well during his career as a finishing carpenter and project supervisor. A strong work ethic is a trait he instilled in his four children. He enjoyed painting and drawing, and had a love for animals and travelling. He was a sports fanatic, with a real passion for soccer, hockey and golf. He was a tremendous father, grandfather, friend, role model, and husband to the love of his life Ann. We feel blessed that we were fortunate enough to call this great man our dad. ~ Ann, Keith, Karen, Alan, Neil & Family
Conway Cameron
Conway Robert Cameron passed away suddenly on September 2nd, 2008 of an aortic aneurysm at the young age of 65 years. Conway grew up in the Pincher Creek area, and later trained at SAIT in Refrigeration and Heating. He settled in Lethbridge and became a partner in Alcon. Con’s Refrigeration, his own business, allowed him to enjoy semi-retirement later on in his career. Phyllis and Conway enjoyed 40 years of marriage, and happily watched their daughters Robyn, Susan and Kelly establish their own careers and families. Conway enjoyed conversation with the people he’d meet, especially over a cup of coffee. He thought the best of everyone and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Conway was an active member of his church and community, and volunteered in many different ways. Besides relaxing in his chair, he loved fishing at Beauvais Lake, playing with his six grandchildren, watching sports and puttering around the house. He was a wonderful husband, dad, grandfather, brother and friend to all those that had the honor of knowing him. He is greatly missed and will never be forgotten. ~ Phyllis, Robyn, Susan, Kelly & Family
Frank Halluk
Frank was born in Stienheim, Germany in 1948, and moved to Coaldale, AB, Canada in 1956 with his parents and siblings. He was an avid sports fan and excelled as an athlete growing up, particularly in basketball and then golf later in life. He had a great love for animals and enjoyed spoiling his Boxer, Becky. He had one of the best senses of humor around and it was very rare for him not to be smiling, telling jokes, or playing practical jokes on his friends. He was a great father, a friend to all, and has been missed very much since his sudden parting in April of 2011 at the age of 63. ~ Kent & Spencer
Gordon Cunningham
Gord died suddenly at the age of 60, while helping a friend with property clean-up at their cabin in Mildmay, Ontario on July 7th, 2001. Gord was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and came to Vancouver with his parents at a young age. He inherited the musicality of his father, and was a drum major in his high school years. He lied about his age to join the Army at 16, which they found out when he turned 18. He was able to serve his full 4 years during which time he was on the rifle team, the boxing team, and traveled to England and Africa to serve his country. He had a free spirit and a joy of life, always seeking new adventures and experiences. His professional life encompassed a military career, including a time commanding the cadet camp in Vernon, a time at University, leaving a year short of achieving his law degree because he was bored, a stockbroker, owning a credit collection company, and an investment advisor and promoter. He is a father, who while not always a presence in the lives of his children, was proud and supportive of their success and ,independence. He loved life, working hard, traveling widely and playing hard, whether it was fishing, golfing, chess or building a cabin. He believed it was important to give back and had a personal philosophy of giving to someone less fortunate than him, everyday. He lived his life as if he knew his time would be short. He is missed always. ~ Linda, Debbie, Don, Joanne & Family
